Third Eye Fragrance Co Moon Lotus review

Third Eye Fragrance Co Blue Lotus

Will Southard began exploring perfumery as a hobby at first. After two-plus years of experimentation, Third Eye Fragrance Co released its debut fragrance, Red Rum, in 2025, followed by Iris Obsidian and the very popular Flamango in that same year. Moon Lotus was released in April of this year.

Have you noticed how some fragrances introduce themselves within the first few moments? Moon Lotus was not one of them for me. I detected something extra each time I wore it, and that became part of its appeal to me. It never felt predictable; throughout the day, it revealed small details I had somehow missed before.

Moon Lotus opens with top notes that are succulent, optimistic, and full of life. Mandarin, along with lemon, brings a sparkling freshness; peach adds a soft, velvety touch that melts into the skin. Pineapple delivers a balmy glow without pushing it too far. The fruits feel natural, creating an inviting first impression that immediately draws me back for another whiff.

At the heart, Third Eye Fragrance Co Moon Lotus florals emerge; they do not bolt forward all at once. Instead, they slowly expose themselves, each adding its own essence while enhancing the others. Madagascar ylang ylang provides a creamy richness that feels smooth and almost golden in texture. Jasmine Sambac and Grandiflorum add depth, filling the fragrance with a lush floral presence that feels brilliant rather than overpowering. There is a gentle luminescence that keeps everything feeling alive, with a narcotic warmth. Nothing feels intense or out of place. I found a bit of mystery as I took in every note, as the aromas progressed naturally. Of course, blue lotus is here as well. There is a reason the Blue Lotus flower has fascinated people for thousands of years. Its scent is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself, and reading descriptions does not capture its uniquely atmospheric quality. There is a watery softness to it, a subtle floral sweetness, and an almost dreamlike character that makes it feel unlike any other flower. It has a calm presence that seems to slow everything down.

Ancient Egyptians held Blue Lotus in high respect, often associating it with spirituality, rebirth, renewal, and the essence of life. The flower appeared throughout their art and culture, becoming a symbol of beauty, rebirth, and connection to something beyond the ordinary. That history obviously became a major source of inspiration for Will while creating Moon Lotus.

Third Eye Fragrance Co Moon Lotus transitions from the opening to the last note gracefully and with solace. Sandalwood and vanilla deliver a creamy, smooth foundation that feels comforting and refined, with a richness that does not become too heavy, wrapping the composition in a soft warmth that lasts for hours. A touch of ambergris adds a subtle nuance with depth. The dry down is where Moon Lotus truly leaves its mark. The fruits softened, the florals have settled, and what remains is a beautiful blend of creaminess, lingering petals, and the undeniable signature of Blue Lotus. It stays close to the skin while continuing to reveal small details throughout.

Third Eye Fragrance Co Moon Lotus wears like a dream. Will thoughtfully captured the beauty of Blue Lotus and perfectly embraced its history. The result feels genuine, carefully composed, and deeply personal. For anyone searching for a fragrance built around the beauty and mysticism of Blue Lotus, this is one you will love as much as I did. Rich but airy. Exotic without feeling overwhelming. Familiar in some moments and completely unexpected in others. A scent created to be worn, remembered, and returned to again and again, and very difficult to forget.

Notes: peach, pineapple, mandarin, ylang ylang, jasmine, blue lotus, sandalwood, vanilla, ambergris
