The Different Company’s new Extraits Extrêmes line enhances the performance yet keeps the classic elegance of the house’s style. Perfumer Alexandra Monet has composed a tuberose perfume at 50%, while most extraits tend to feel richer and sit closer to the skin. The Different Company Crazy Tubereuse is huge, with two sprays able to fill a room and stay projecting on your skin for hours, without leaning into woody ambers. Alexandra Monet has cleverly enhanced all the flower’s facets and giving it a body that she adorns in leather.

It may be Crazy by name, but The Different Company’s Crazy Tubereuse is definitely more naughty by nature. A lush tuberose blooming as the sun goes down sets the scene for what’s to come. The  waxy plump petals simmer with a creamy sweetness enriched by balsamics that glisten like dark gems on the pale white petals. Black pepper teases out more of the florals natural spicy side adding a darker tone, giving the petals a bodily warmth and a knowing flirtatious wink. Cold glistening aldehydes are a lovely counterpoint, playing as a contrast to the warm spiced florals. It gives Crazy Tuberuse nonchalance with a side of attitude, while also making it feel like the smooth petals are gliding over cool skin. Crazy Tubereuse is a perfume that commands the room and fills the room, in the best possible way.

As the lights of the night turn low, Crazy Tubereuse slowly slips into a sleek leather jacket made from jasmine petals. You feel more floral nocturnal facets start to purr with a hypnotic desire. Tuberose’s spices melt into its creamy petals turning into a soft hazy smoky texture, becoming an addictive aroma. Imagine a leather with a smooth velvety texture, yet it has the lightness of silk. You can feel the soft fuzz of the suede’s nap gently caress your senses. Crazy Tubereuse blossoms into a deeper abstract floral aura with tuberose still at its heart, adorned in a fine jasmine gown. I love how the spices purr pulling you closer. Crazy Tubereuse draws you in to smell its more sensual side and the aldehydic chill gives an edge.
