Nicolaï Parfumeur Créateur Fleur d’Oranger celebrates spring with an ode to orange blossom (and Mother’s Day in France May 31, 2026), a limited-edition release available only from the 1st of May to the end of August 2026. Renowned perfumer Patricia De Nicolaï,(who started her brand in 1989!!!), has composed a symphonic work capturing the magical orange blossom trees from her childhood memories in a flacon. Madame de Nicolai uses advanced techniques of material extraction and delivers a perfume experience that surrounds us in all the facets of the orange tree… so realistic it brings the Royal Gardens Orangerie in Versailles to you no matter where you live.

An intense rush of aromas envelop you as Fleur d’Oranger blossoms on your skin, wrapping you in luminous beauty, full of complexity, dripping with pleasure. Fleur d’Oranger feels joyous as the bitter orange facets are revealed followed by flashes of sweet citruses giving a juicy feel in contrast to the more herbaceous neroli bitter greens. Perfumer Patricia De Nicolaï talks of her magical childhood memories of the Royal Gardens Orangerie in Versailles opening its doors for the first time of the year, how its scent lay inside waiting inside; its stone and glass walls waiting to signal the start of spring. Fleur d’Oranger has a translucent dreamy quality, evoking the sensation of being surrounded by plants in a orangery. I’ve not experienced the Royal Gardens of Versailles’ Orangerie but Fleur d’Oranger transports me back in time to my own childhood walking into my parents’ greenhouse and smelling the tomato plants and vines hanging there. The vaporous intoxicating feel of Fleur d’Oranger brings a smile to my face as very few fragrances capture that sensation of nature intensified and blooming in a greenhouse. Bitter green stems and blonde woods give balance and structure to Fleur d’Oranger as crystalline neroli facets shine like emeralds amongst the honeyed orange tones. Vegetal greens contrast beautifully with the sweeter citruses; bergamot and bitter orange feel like a floral cocktail with an abundant zest of citrus that sparkled like sunlight through glass. Jasmine enhances the orange blossoms’ floral side adding radiance teasing out subtle animalic tones from the honey it keeps in its heart. This delicious purr is for those who have been pulled close to you, mesmerized by your scent trail.  The rich petals with the musks of the Orangerie make it feel like you’re draped in the most luxe silks that are gliding gently over your skin as if moved by a breeze. Fleur d’Oranger has a vivid freshness, you can sense coolness of moving through the trees as their scent radiates its solar energy around you.

Fleur d’Oranger’s dark honeyed orange blossoms glow as the dry down arrives, the herbal neroli greens sit back as a cooling vetiver moves you through the Orangerie. You can feel the scent around you with the musks keeping that intoxicating sensation throughout the entire wear. Vetiver’s rooty warmth again evokes that solar feel of sunlight on your skin while cooling you from the orange blossoms radiant glow. Vanilla cleverly extends the soft blonde woods, making the silk petals feel creamy as if they’re melting over your skin. The sharpness of those bitter greens blends beautifully with the rich, plush scent of orange blossom. The use of musks and woods with the vanilla is very clever as it’s extends the longevity of Fleur d’Oranger for hours, as well as lending French sophistication to the composition. The musks meld with the more narcotic honey orange blossoms, adding a French elegance shifting the experience of Fleur d’Oranger from olfactive art to a classic perfume and one of the best orange blossom perfumes I’ve ever smelled.
